ACTIVITIES

SORTING ACTIVITIES are good for reinforcing understanding of concepts. In a closed sort the instructor provides the categories and the items to be sorted. In an open sort, the instructor provides items to be sorted and learners provide the categories or the instructor provides the categories and the students are asked to provide the items that fit the categories.

ENTER AND COMPARE activities give students the opportunity to enter an answer and then compare it to an expert answer. Discussing important learning concepts with a manager or trainer adds impact and realism. Pulling learning from the screen to real life has many valuable learning benefits.

LISTENING EXERCISES allow learners to get cues from and react to a realistic situation. Existing records may be played over a phone bridge, if sound editing equipment is not available.

DRAG AND DROP exercises allow learners to interact with a model or classification scheme and gain immediate feedback about their understanding.

FLASH CARDS can help learners review terms, dates, events, or other declarative knowledge.
